Mariana Tassinari constitui sua obra na intersecção do design e das artes visuais e explora a junção das cores tenras dos tecidos àquelas dos metais. Nessa sobreposição, une meio e suporte criando arquiteturas que se acentuam por meio de práticas de aproximação de planos diversos como o bordado e a colagem. Sua prática explora as formas fundamentais de tecnologias materiais, tais como a dos utensílios, por exemplo, dialogando com o espaço e tempo arcaicos de suas conceitualizações e suas formas futuras, ainda não definidas. Agindo no espaço da incerteza, ora em cerâmica, ora em metal e tecido, sua obra sintetiza o diálogo entre passado e futuro pelo momento presente. Ainda diminuindo o espaço entre estruturas opostas, a artista aproxima com sua obra diferentes localidades às geometrias industriais através da sua pesquisa de tradições manuais e por meio desta junção contribui para a criação de novas estruturas.
Seu trabalho foi exposto em diversos contextos institucionais, por exemplo, Sesc Vitrine [2010], no Sesc Santana, São Paulo; Lianzhou Photo [2013, China]; Pensaram ser Paisagem, era corpo, no BNP Paribas [2018], e Silhuetas [2024], no Quase Espaço, ambos em São Paulo.
/ Mariana Tassinari builds her work at the intersection of design and the visual arts, exploring the interplay between the soft colors of fabrics and those of metals. In this layering, she merges medium and support, creating architectures that are accentuated through practices that bring different planes into proximity, such as embroidery and collage. Her practice investigates the fundamental forms of material technologies—including those of everyday utensils—engaging with both the archaic space-time of their conceptual origins and their future, not-yet-defined forms. Working within a zone of uncertainty—at times in ceramics, at times in metal and fabric—the artist’s work synthesizes a dialogue between past and future through the immediacy of the present. Further narrowing the distance between opposing structures, she brings together different localities and industrial geometries through her research into manual traditions, and through this union contributes to the creation of new structures.
Her work has been exhibited in various institutional contexts, including Sesc Vitrine [2010] at Sesc Santana, São Paulo; Lianzhou Photo [2013, China]; Pensaram ser Paisagem, era corpo at BNP Paribas [2018]; and Silhuetas [2024] at Quase Espaço, both in São Paulo.
