Vive e trabalha em Recife
Ana Neves manipula a imagem em suas pinturas e desenhos para evidenciar a interconexão entre o ser humano e seu entorno, acionando corpos híbridos que unem o corpo humano, a fauna, a flora e objetos para revelar tanto a partilha do mundo quanto as tensões do pertencimento e da resistência. Sua trajetória se inicia na literatura; por isso, palavra e imagem coexistem como forças especulativas em suas obras. A artista desenvolve um léxico próprio de figuração a partir de um repertório recorrente de signos relacionados à sua formação pessoal, como pontes e estruturas curvas riscadas, que conectam um lugar a outro
Entre suas principais exposições estão a individual Tropical Trópico: Aqui Tudo Derrete [2025], na Torre Malakoff, Recife; e as coletivas Alumbramento, no Museu Nacional da República, Brasília; Inferno—Cânticos, na Garrido Galeria, e Tocar o céu com as mãos, na Amparo 60, ambas em Recife. Em 2025, realizou residência artística no Contra Ponto, em Recife, e em 2024, no Domo Damo, em São Paulo.
/ Ana Neves manipulates the image in her paintings and drawings to highlight the interconnection between human beings and their surroundings, activating hybrid bodies: merging the human form with fauna, flora and objects, revealing both the shared world and the tensions of belonging and resistance. Her trajectory begins in literature; therefore, word and image coexist as speculative forces in her work. The artist develops her own figurative lexicon from a recurring repertoire of signs connected to her personal formation, such as bridges and curved, scored structures linking one place to another.
Her main exhibitions include the solo show Tropical Trópico: Aqui Tudo Derrete [2025], at Torre Malakoff, Recife; and the group shows Alumbramento, at Museu Nacional da República, Brasília; Inferno—Cânticos, at Garrido Galeria, and Tocar o céu com as mãos, at Amparo 60, both in Recife. In 2025, she completed an artist residency at Contra Ponto, in Recife, and in 2024 at Domo Damo, in São Paulo.
